Reunion Tour - 10

Started the day in Minot ND but didn't get out of town for a while. It was time for an oil change but in the process of looking for a garage we found a neat little park. It was a Scandanavian village with buildings, fountains and statues. We stopped to take a few pictures - the horse is called Dala and it is a symbol of Sweden. The small person under it is of Swedish descent - her mother's maiden name was Gustafson. Can't get any more Swedish than that. The house is Norwegian, and all five Scandanavian countries were represented. Then we found a Toyota dealer who had an open bay for an oil change, so it didn't take too long. Most of the rest of the day was involved in a lot of driving and not a lot of stopping. Along the way we saw more yellow fields of canola but also some light blue fields that we never did identify. We also found out that US Highway 2 is a training ground for construction trainees. We had to wait for a pilot car for 20 minutes to lead us through one section. The one significant stop was near Williston ND where we stopped to see an intrepretive center and the confluence of the Yellowstone River and the Missouri River. We had been in this area last year on the Lewis & Clark trip but had missed this area. Then we journeyed across some wide open spaces that explain why Montana is called The Big Sky Country. As we crossed the state line, we entered Mountain Time again. Spending the night in Malta, Montana.
